The RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) is seeking candidates to join its board of directors, inviting professionals from all sectors of the recreational vehicle industry to apply, according to a LinkedIn post.
The call for nominations was issued earlier this week and focuses on recruiting individuals with proven leadership, strategic thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
As outlined in the announcement, board members are expected to play an integral role in steering RVWA’s strategic direction, advancing program development, and championing initiatives that promote an inclusive and supportive environment for women across the RV sector.
“The RV Women’s Alliance is strategically driven by a Board of Directors comprised of individuals from every sector of the RV industry,” the association states. “The board is responsible for strategizing, planning, and helping to implement RVWA’s vision.”
Ideal candidates should demonstrate leadership capabilities within both their current organizations and the alliance, including experience facilitating and contributing to strategic discussions, followed by actionable outcomes.
“We look for those individuals who have shown leadership capabilities within both their organizations as well as RVWA,” RVWA indicates. “We want to see proven competencies in being able to both participate in and lead thoughtful discussions as well as the implementation of plans.”
The alliance is also prioritizing professionals with a forward-looking approach who can address long-term objectives and help the board anticipate future challenges in the RV space.
“We seek out professionals that have experience in big picture planning and long term results,” the association adds. “We want those that strategically think about various solutions to challenges we face as well as those not yet foreseen.”
Applicants should also bring a collaborative mindset, recognizing the importance of building a diverse and unified board that represents the full range of voices across the RV ecosystem.
Board members are expected to fulfill several responsibilities, including preparing for and attending meetings, staying informed on industry trends, and participating in evaluations of business operations and executives.
Other duties include reviewing and approving budgets, contributing to policy development, ensuring fiduciary and legal responsibilities are met, and maintaining confidentiality on all organizational matters.
