Registration is now open for the RV Technical Institute’s (RVTI) second Level 3 Electrical specialty course, scheduled to take place June 17–19, at the institute’s facility in Elkhart, Indiana.
The three-day event will provide attendees with 24 hours of training, fulfilling all requirements for Level 3 certification in the electrical specialty.
Participants must hold a current Level 2 certification or higher with the RVTI to be eligible. Individuals who register without meeting the prerequisite will have their registration canceled and the fee forfeited.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the training will include instruction from a variety of companies and cover a broad range of technical topics.
RVTI will lead a session on surge protection. Furrion and Lippert will address power distribution, amperes, converters, inverters, transfer switches, batteries, and solar power.
Xantrex will also provide training on inverters, lithium-ion batteries, solar power, and amperes. Dragonfly Energy will offer instruction on converters, inverters, batteries, solar power, and amperes.
In addition, Renogy will cover converters, batteries, solar power, and amperes, while NexGen Power Systems will focus on generators. WFCO Technologies will instruct on converters, inverters, transfer switches, and batteries.
“This workshop fulfills the training hour requirements for this specialty. Upon successful completion, participants will obtain Level 3 Specialty certification in this category,” the association indicates.
Technicians who complete all five Level 3 specialties, electrical, chassis, electronics, appliances, and slideout, become eligible for Level 4 Master Certification.
Enrollment for the course is priced at $75.
Introduced in 2024, the Level 3 workshop series was created to help RV technicians gain required specialty hours while expanding their expertise in key systems and components. While only one workshop was held per specialty last year, the 2025 schedule includes two per specialty.
The June session is the fourth Level 3 workshop of the year and marks the final electrical-focused course in the 2025 series. Remaining sessions will address the other four specialty areas.
Level 3 courses are also available year-round through RVTI authorized supplier training.
