The RV Industry Association’s Standards department recently participated in a technical training session hosted by Dometic Corporation, a supplier member, to strengthen their understanding of product installation and troubleshooting.
The event was part of the association’s continued effort to equip inspectors with product-specific knowledge that supports manufacturers in the field.
The training provided the standards staff with detailed technical overviews of Dometic’s current product lineup, including furnaces, refrigerators, air conditioning units, and water heaters.
The session was designed to enhance inspectors’ familiarity with the operation and design of these systems.
In addition to classroom instruction, the staff received practical training in proper installation techniques and troubleshooting procedures.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, five experienced Dometic product experts, along with a lead instructor, conducted the session.
RVIA’s Standards department is composed of full-time professional inspectors who promote safety by monitoring adherence to standards in RV manufacturing. Each year, the team performs more than 2,000 unannounced inspections of member company production facilities.
During inspections, inspectors walk each station of the assembly line, spot-checking RV units for compliance with more than 500 safety-related standards.
They also provide real-time feedback and educational resources to manufacturer personnel.
