LuxeGlamp, an Indian-based luxury glamping brand, has expanded internationally with the official launch of its first eco-resort in the United Arab Emirates.
The new destination, LuxeGlamp UAQ, opened in Umm Al Quwain and is being promoted as the UAE’s first exclusive eco-tourism glamping retreat.
The resort is located within the Umm Al Quwain Mangrove Reserve, a biodiverse area that plays a key role in the region’s ecological sustainability efforts.
The inauguration of the resort took place on April 24, 2025, and was marked by a cornerstone-laying ceremony attended by Sheikh Majid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of the Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain.
The event underlines the emirate’s broader aim of integrating sustainability into its tourism development strategy.
LuxeGlamp UAQ offers ten glass-domed suites, each around 1,000 square feet in size, designed to provide panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf and the mangrove ecosystem.
The suites include features such as private plunge pools, saunas, wooden decks, and hammocks. The structures are built using recyclable materials like tempered glass and aluminum, with bamboo accounting for the majority of wood usage.
According to Travel and Tour World, all operations are powered by solar energy, and the resort is free from single-use plastics.
There are no permanent structures on-site, and no soil was disturbed during the development process, aligning the project with minimal environmental impact standards. A fine-dining restaurant, Luxe Bistro, is also part of the resort.
“LuxeGlamp UAQ is a celebration of what Indian eco-luxury hospitality can achieve globally. We’re proud to share our nature-first design philosophy with the world,” said Antony Thomas, Founder and CEO of LuxeGlamp.
“A highlight of the destination is Luxe Bistro. This stunning glass-domed fine-dining restaurant delivers a fusion of Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines, crafted with local and sustainable ingredients.”
The overall site spans 50 acres, with development limited to just 3 acres to preserve the surrounding environment.
LuxeGlamp UAQ’s opening introduces a hospitality model in the region that integrates luxury travel with environmental stewardship, a concept that is seeing increasing demand globally.
For professionals in the outdoor hospitality and glamping industries, LuxeGlamp’s approach offers insight into how eco-tourism can be scaled for premium markets while aligning with regulatory and environmental goals.
The brand’s entry into the UAE underscores the potential for international growth in the luxury sustainable travel segment, particularly in regions looking to diversify their tourism offerings with environmentally conscious developments.
LuxeGlamp already operates glamping retreats in India, specifically in Kodaikanal and Munnar. The UAQ launch marks the company’s first venture outside of India and reflects a broader trend of eco-focused hospitality concepts expanding into new markets.
