Notizie sull'ospitalità all'aperto

Per proprietari, operatori, membri del team e chiunque altro sia interessato al campeggio, al glamping o al settore dei camper.

Il campeggio sulle rive della Loira riapre dopo i lavori di ripristino a seguito dell'alluvione del febbraio 2026.

After recovering from flooding in February 2026, a riverside campsite along the Loire à Vélo cycling route in western France reopened to guests at the beginning of May following several weeks of cleanup and repair work.

Migliori Camping les Babins, operated by Arnaud Beaupère in Bouzillé, a delegated municipality of Orée-d’Anjou in Maine-et-Loire, was heavily affected by floodwaters earlier this year.

Beaupère said the site’s two hectares were covered with debris after the Loire River overflowed, requiring approximately three weeks of cleanup before reopening for the 2026 season. Repairs also included reconstruction work on the road leading into the property.

The campsite, which first opened in 2016, is positioned near the Loire River and caters to travelers using the Loire à Vélo route, one of France’s best-known cycling tourism corridors. The property offers a range of accommodations, including caravans, Saharan-style tents, ecolodges, trailers, and traditional camping tents.

In addition to lodging, the business operates a guinguette-style food and social area serving locally sourced products. Offerings include appetizer boards as well as jars of pâté, rillettes, poultry terrine, and shepherd’s pie-style dishes prepared by a local artisan producer.

The site also attracts visitors from nearby communities seeking food and entertainment during the summer season.

“I wanted to make an unusual accommodation, a friendly place in osmosis with nature. Also a place where you can sit down and share good times with the campers,” Arnaud Beaupère told Ovest della Francia.

The operator said the campsite plans to continue its seasonal events program during July and August, with Friday evening entertainment featuring regional artists. Planned activities include concerts, theater performances, and stargazing events.

“In July and August, I offer entertainment with evenings every Friday where I program artists from the region with concerts, theater or stargazing,” Beaupère said.

The campsite is expected to remain open through the end of September.

For outdoor hospitality operators, the reopening highlights the operational challenges many riverside and nature-based tourism businesses face as weather-related disruptions become more frequent.

Flood recovery efforts can involve significant labor, infrastructure repair, and seasonal revenue risk, particularly for independently operated campgrounds and glamping sites that depend on spring and summer tourism traffic.

Businesses located near waterways and cycling tourism routes may increasingly need contingency planning for weather events while also investing in diversified guest experiences, such as food service and live entertainment, to help strengthen visitor demand and extend guest stays.
