The Getaway Show, a new event focused on the caravan, motorhome, and outdoor leisure sectors, is set to make its debut in Northeast Scotland this autumn.
Scheduled to take place from October 3 to 5, 2025, at P&J Live in Aberdeen, the show is positioned as a significant platform for the industry in Scotland, offering early access to the 2026 season’s models and outdoor equipment.
Organizers expect the event to attract a range of attendees, from experienced tourers to those new to mobile holidays.
Exhibits will include touring vehicles, self-built campervan interiors, camping gear, and outdoor accessories. Visitors will also have access to expert demonstrations and practical advice.
The location was chosen due to its proximity to key travel destinations, according to Rob Wicks, Managing Director of P&J Live.
He highlighted the region’s connections to the Cairngorms National Park and the North Coast 500 touring route as factors that make Aberdeen a strategic host city for the show. He added that the venue would also feature family-friendly attractions, including live music, food and beverage vendors, and a children’s activity zone.
Jamie Taylor, the event organiser, said the exhibition aims to reflect developments in mobile accommodation, with particular emphasis on new trends like off-grid capabilities and 4×4 campervans.
He noted that the show is designed to celebrate the holiday experience that caravan and motorhome travel can offer.
Dealerships and brands will use the event to showcase newly launched models for the coming year.
Malcolm Sempey, owner of Kirkcaldy Caravans, emphasized the timing of the show as ideal for introducing new stock and generating early customer interest. In a news release, he noted that the variety of models on display would suit a wide range of travel preferences and budgets.
Participating brands include Swift, Bailey, Coachman, Panama, Elddis, Sprite, Knaus, Weinsberg, Hobby, Dometic, and more, giving professionals a wide array of products to evaluate under one roof.
