Arapaho Valley Ranch, a 40-acre self-sustaining property located near Rocky Mountain National Park in Grand County, Colorado, features a range of lodging options and family-friendly experiences.
Nestled within the Arapaho National Forest and the Indian Peaks Wilderness, the family-owned guest ranch has welcomed guests seeking nature, adventure, and relaxation for nearly 80 years.
The property features a variety of accommodations tailored to different guest preferences, including a mountain home, cabins, glamping tents, tipis, yurts, RV sites, and traditional campsites. According to the ranch, the diverse options are designed to provide both comfort and a close connection to nature.
“While here, you can disconnect from the world, find solace in relaxation, or embark on thrilling outdoor adventures. AVR is a gateway to endless activities, allowing you to curate your unforgettable experience,” Arapaho Valley Ranch’s website indicates.

Arapaho Valley Ranch also welcomes pets, allowing up to two animals per guest group. “Because family adventures include all members on two legs or four,” the ranch noted, emphasizing its inclusive approach to travel.
Guests are also encouraged to disconnect from daily life and explore outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, and paddling. The ranch’s location provides direct access to nearby wilderness areas and scenic vistas, making it a gateway to year-round adventure.
Among the highlighted accommodations are glamping tents that overlook Little Indian Lake. Each tent features one or two queen beds, a futon, and a camp kitchen with cooking supplies, a French press, and a cooler. Camp stoves and grills are also included for added convenience.

Tipis and yurts offer similar amenities with unique layouts. Tipis are outfitted with a queen bed and two cots, while yurts contain two queen beds and a full-size futon. Both lodging types provide kitchen essentials and a rustic camping experience with added comfort.
Cabins on the property range in size and capacity, accommodating anywhere from four to 18 guests. Each is fully furnished to support group stays, offering an alternative to more traditional camping or glamping options.
The ranch’s RV sites include water and electric hookups, allowing guests to enjoy natural surroundings without sacrificing modern conveniences. Campsites are also available with views of the Colorado River or in more secluded wooded areas.
Arapaho Valley Ranch will also host its annual Bluegrass Music Weekend on July 18 and 19, featuring performances by artists such as Shakedown Strings, Shovelin Stone, Joe R & The Icebox Sound, Buffalo Galaxy, and Bottle Rocket Hurricane. “
During the music weekend, the Red Dog Saloon will be open in the evenings, and The Better Bus food truck will serve dinner on Saturday.
