Hill County Commission OKs $10,200 Marden Campground Outhouse

Last Thursday, at their weekly business meeting, Hill County Commission (Montana) voted unanimously on an agreement with Frank Leeds Construction to build a $10,200 concrete outhouse at Marden Campground.

According to a report, Hill County Commissioner Diane McLean said half of the construction would be covered through funds provided by the Marden family, while the remaining half will be covered by insurance money the county obtained due to wind damage to the existing outhouse.

Hill County Commissioner Mark Peterson said the Marden family has contributed to the funding of many things at the park in the past.

“I think we need to recognize that,” Peterson said, “That they have been a very strong supporter of Beaver Creek Park.”

The commission also voted unanimously to amend the Hill County Sheriff’s Office budget to allow the acceptance of two donations to the organization.

One of them was a $10,000 contribution from the BNSF Railway Foundation to purchase safety equipment. The second was a donation of $46 from Walmart’s Havre location to the sheriff’s office K9 program.
