Yorkshire’s Kestrel Yurt Highlights the Appeal of Spa-Style Outdoor Stays

Located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Kestrel Yurt offers a luxury glamping experience that blends comfort and outdoor appeal.

Positioned near the market town of Hawes in Wensleydale, the yurt provides an option for families and small groups looking for a self-contained countryside retreat with modern amenities.

The accommodation features a king-size four-poster bed and four foldable single beds, accommodating up to six guests. The yurt is equipped with a log-burning stove, fridge, coffee machine, and other essentials for short stays.

Outside, guests have access to a private hot tub, which is preheated for their arrival, as well as an Indian fire bowl that doubles as a barbecue.

Guests receive breakfast delivered each morning, included in the stay. Additional meal options, including homemade lunches and dinners, can be ordered from the site’s catering service. One dog is permitted for an additional charge of £20, with a second considered upon request.

For visitors seeking relaxation beyond the yurt, the nearby Cherish Spa offers access to a barrel sauna, wood-fired hot tub, and plunge pool for an additional fee. The spa operates daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with package options available such as “Spa, Bottle and Dine” and “Bubbles, Treats & Spa.”

The location provides easy access to local attractions. The Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre and Hardraw Force, England’s tallest single-drop waterfall, are both within walking distance or a short drive.

The Forbidden Corner, a family-friendly attraction in Coverdale, and the historic market town of Leyburn are also nearby. The village of Askrigg, known for its connection to the TV series All Creatures Great and Small, is a five-minute drive away.
