Wooda Farm Holiday Park, a long-established family-run site near Bude on the Devon-Cornwall border, has been named among Campsite.co.uk’s 2025 Outstanding Sites, highlighting its reputation for consistently high-quality experiences across camping, glamping, and touring accommodation.
The recognition adds to a string of accolades, including the park’s recent award as the overall winner of Best Family Campsite in the 2024 Camping and Glamping Awards.
The holiday park has been owned and operated by the Colwill family since 1975, evolving from a traditional working farm into a modern tourism destination with 5-star rated facilities.
Today, Wooda Farm Holiday Park offers a broad mix of accommodation options, including spacious grass and hardstanding pitches, fully serviced touring areas, and three glamping S-Pods. The site also features holiday homes, lodges, and cottages for longer or more comfortable stays.
Facilities are a significant part of the guest offering. The site includes a camper’s kitchen, three heated toilet and shower blocks, family bathroom hire options, and dedicated EV charging points.
Guests have access to food and drink at The Yard – Coffee, Bar and Kitchen, open from May to October, as well as The Loft Cocktail Bar and The Lodge Takeaway.
A farm shop provides groceries, gifts, and essentials, although fresh items are not available between November and March.
For dog-owning visitors, the park is equipped with dog showers, a secure exercise field, and walking areas. Up to three dogs are allowed per pitch.
Recreational amenities include tennis courts, a gym, a pitch and putt golf course, segway tours, pottery painting, wellness and beauty treatments, and tractor rides.
Indoor spaces include a TV and games room with a pool and table tennis. The park also supports family-friendly engagement with farm animals like pygmy goats and alpacas.
The park maintains a focus on guest experience and heritage.
“We are a family-run business whose ethos is creating special memories through quality time. We live onsite and love sharing our home with guests—my Dad was born in the area and grew up on the farm,” a note from the site stated on Campsites.co.uk.
“Originally a working farm, Wooda was home to 200 sheep and 50 dairy cows, looked after by Jim and Bessie Colwill, who also ran a cosy B and B.”
For business owners in the outdoor hospitality industry, Wooda Farm’s sustained success demonstrates the value of combining heritage with modern facilities, diversified accommodation options, and high-quality service. Their inclusion in the 2025 Outstanding Sites list reflects not only the park’s operational standards but also the growing importance of experience-driven, family-focused offerings in the UK’s competitive tourism sector.
