Wonderland Retreats to Open Adults-Only Luxury Glamping Pod in Carnforth

A new adults-only luxury glamping pod is set to open at Wonderland Retreats in Carnforth, expanding the site’s accommodation offering with a product designed specifically for couples seeking short-break stays.

The new unit, named Alice’s Secret Garden, will operate as a standalone glamping experience within the wider retreat, focusing on privacy, wellness amenities, and flexible booking options.

Located in the countryside surrounding Carnforth, the pod has been developed to combine self-contained accommodation with a range of outdoor and leisure features typically associated with boutique spa retreats.

According to the Lancaster Guardian, Alice’s Secret Garden will include a private garden with a working water fountain, a wood-fired hot tub, an outdoor bath overlooking a private pond, a plunge bucket and ice bath, and a sauna.

Indoor amenities include a fully equipped, heated bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a private entertainment suite.

The entertainment area is designed to support longer on-site dwell time and includes a pool table, ice hockey table, interactive darts board, and a private cinema room for two.

Alice’s Secret Garden will offer one-night stays, positioning it to capture demand for spontaneous getaways as well as planned romantic breaks. Short-stay flexibility continues to be a growing consideration within the glamping and outdoor hospitality sector, particularly for operators targeting local and regional markets rather than extended holiday stays.

From an operational perspective, the opening reflects a broader trend within the glamping and caravan park sectors toward adults-only and experience-led accommodation. Features such as private wellness facilities and exclusive-use entertainment spaces can help justify higher nightly rates while limiting shared infrastructure costs.

Bookings for Alice’s Secret Garden are being handled directly through Wonderland Retreats’ website, with the opening marking the latest addition to the retreat’s accommodation portfolio.

The launch represents an example of how rural hospitality businesses are diversifying their offerings to appeal to niche markets within the wider outdoor accommodation industry.
