Whitemead Forest Park in Gloucestershire has announced the completion of significant upgrades to its glamping accommodation, investing approximately £95,000 to enhance its offering ahead of the 2025 summer season.
The improvements focus on the site’s 15 Megapods—four Megapod Deluxes and eleven Megapod Premiers—located in a woodland area known as The Hollow within the Forest of Dean.
The refurbishment project involved a full interior redesign of the Megapod Deluxes, which now include improved ensuite facilities, new flooring, upgraded beds, custom-built woodwork, and integrated lighting.
According to a report by The Forester, additional features such as new soft furnishings, headboards, and storage cubby holes around the double beds have been introduced to improve guest comfort.
Gloucestershire-based interior design firm Calico Interiors collaborated on the upgrades, bringing a locally tailored approach to the project.
The Megapod Premiers, which also accommodate up to four guests, received updated furnishings and repainting aimed at creating a more modern look.
While less extensive than the Deluxe renovations, the improvements form part of a broader effort to refresh the park’s glamping village.
“Our newly renovated glamping pods offer a luxurious alternative to traditional camping, combining the charm of the great outdoors with the comfort of home,” said Lauren Bynon, revenue and reservations manager at Whitemead Forest Park.
“With the forest right on your doorstep, all you need to bring are the essentials. They’re ideal for couples, families, or friends looking for a stylish and memorable getaway.”
Each glamping pod comes equipped with an outdoor picnic area and a designated parking space, contributing to a more convenient and flexible guest experience.
Visitors also have access to a range of amenities on site, including a heated indoor swimming pool, spa pools, a sauna, a steam room, and a gym.
To encourage early bookings, Whitemead Forest Park has launched its “Spring into Summer” promotion, offering 20% discounts on selected stays. The sale is currently active and aligns with the park’s effort to drive visitor numbers as the summer travel season approaches.
For outdoor hospitality business owners, the upgrades at Whitemead illustrate the growing consumer demand for elevated glamping experiences that offer comfort alongside nature.
With customer expectations shifting toward more refined amenities, especially in the family and couples travel segments, investments in interior design and facility upgrades may present a worthwhile return in both guest satisfaction and occupancy rates.
Whitemead continues to offer a variety of accommodation options beyond glamping pods, including pet-friendly units, apartments, bungalows with hot tubs, and traditional log cabins, allowing the park to cater to a broad visitor demographic.
