Two coastal holiday parks in Wales are expanding their accommodation offerings with the introduction of new glamping pods, set to welcome guests starting this Easter.
Aber Bay Holiday Park near Aberystwyth and Sunbeach in Llwyngwril, both operated by Allens Caravans, aim to provide a modern, compact, and eco-conscious lodging experience that aligns with evolving traveler preferences.
According to the Phoenix Newspaper, the new glamping pods cater to families and groups seeking a blend of outdoor adventure and contemporary comforts.
Featuring a mezzanine-level sleeping area, the pods can accommodate up to six people.
“With our history of providing holidays for the nation, we have seen many different styles of accommodation, and we know what families are looking for when it comes to flexible, modern spaces,” said James Allen, CEO of Allens Caravans.
Glamping has gained traction over the past decade, appealing to guests who seek the outdoor experience without sacrificing amenities.
Allen noted that affordability and sustainability remain key considerations for modern travelers. “People are still feeling the pinch and are also looking for unique and eco-friendly options while still enjoying the comforts of a hotel room or a modern cabin,” he said.
For business owners in the outdoor hospitality industry, the addition of glamping pods represents an opportunity to capitalize on consumer trends favoring alternative accommodations.
The compact yet functional designs of the pods allow operators to maximize available space while providing a high-end guest experience.
Additionally, the lower maintenance requirements compared to traditional lodges or static caravans make them an attractive investment.
Located in scenic beachfront settings, Aber Bay and Sunbeach offer a range of amenities to enhance guest stays, including clubhouses, indoor pools, and on-site dining.
Allens Caravans continues to expand its offerings, signaling a broader shift in the industry toward diversified accommodation options that balance comfort, sustainability, and profitability.
