The National Tourism Awards of Wales recognized outstanding contributions to the country’s tourism sector, with Meadow Springs Country & Leisure Park in Mid Wales securing the title of Best Caravan, Camping, and Glamping facility.
The event, hosted at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, was organized by the Welsh Government and Visit Wales, highlighting the best in the industry across 12 categories.
Service Manager Clive Bowen accepted the award on behalf of Meadow Springs Country & Leisure Park, which has gained recognition for its low-density holiday lodges, touring pitches, and static caravans that integrate with the natural surroundings of Trannon Valley.
Bowen emphasized the significance of this achievement in a report by Shropshire Star, saying, “I know all my colleagues will be extremely proud of this. We are very much a team, and to think that our efforts have been recognized by tourism industry leaders in Wales is just fantastic.”
Meadow Springs Country & Leisure Park, which opened in 2022, has quickly established itself as a premier outdoor hospitality destination.
The Visit Wales 5-star park is designed to offer an immersive countryside experience while maintaining sustainability and comfort.
For professionals in the outdoor hospitality industry, the park’s success underscores the growing demand for high-quality glamping and camping accommodations that balance luxury with nature.
Another notable winner was the Royal Welsh Show, which received the Best Event award. As one of Europe’s largest agricultural showcases, the event attracts significant tourism and economic activity to Mid Wales.
Aled Rhys Jones, chief executive of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, expressed his pride in the recognition, stating, “To think it all started back in 1904 and is still going strong today, bringing in visitors from all around the globe, is something we should all in Wales be hugely proud of.”
For business owners in the outdoor hospitality sector, these awards reinforce the importance of delivering quality experiences that cater to evolving guest expectations.
With increasing interest in experiential travel, particularly in glamping and sustainable camping, industry professionals can look to Meadow Springs as an example of successful market positioning.
Recognizing and adapting to guest preferences—whether through eco-conscious practices, premium amenities, or well-integrated natural settings—will remain critical to staying competitive in this evolving sector.
