Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, has been recognized as one of the top holiday destinations in the United Kingdom. The park, which is part of the Parkdean Resorts portfolio, was highlighted for its Tropical Waterworld waterpark, featuring slides and splash zones. The Sun described the waterpark as “undoubtedly the shining star” of the holiday park.
The site was also noted for its additional attractions, including a treehouse adventure playground, jungle golf, and mini golf, which contribute to its appeal for families.
Parkdean Resorts is currently undertaking a £5 million series of improvements at the site. These upgrades include the introduction of a new sports bar named Hat-Tricks, which will offer food and drink along with interactive sports activities such as shuffleboard.
Additional enhancements planned for the park include Fairground Golf, immersive Bear Grylls escape rooms, an off-road rangers driving track, and renovated high and low ropes courses.
In January 2026, Great Yarmouth Borough Council granted Parkdean Resorts planning permission to replace pitches for 35 touring caravans with 31 static caravans, reflecting a shift in accommodation offerings designed to meet current guest preferences.
According to the Great Yarmouth Mercury, park officials have confirmed that the park will reopen to guests at the end of March 2026, following the completion of the improvement works.
These developments indicate an ongoing trend in the outdoor hospitality sector, where holiday parks are investing in diversified on-site attractions and enhanced amenities to increase guest engagement and extend stays.
For operators and owners in the industry, the project provides insight into strategies that may support competitiveness, such as combining traditional caravan accommodations with experiential activities and themed attractions to appeal to a broader market.
The investment also reflects a balance between maintaining family-focused amenities while updating facilities to meet modern expectations.
With both static and touring caravan options, parks like Vauxhall Holiday Park are positioning themselves to capture a range of visitor demographics, from repeat local visitors to national and international travelers.
