UK Holiday Park Searches Reach Four-Year High Amid Media Spotlight

Holiday park searches in the UK have reached a four-year high in early 2026, according to Google Trends data, coinciding with the debut of Sky TV’s The Dyers’ Caravan Park. While industry observers debate the extent of the show’s impact, operators report steady demand, increased investment, and forward bookings for 2026 that are ahead of last year’s levels.

Property adviser Savills also reports that deal volumes within the caravan and holiday park sector doubled year on year in 2025, signaling that the market is not only stable but also experiencing measurable growth. These trends suggest that the UK holiday park sector is entering 2026 with momentum, supported by both consumer interest and ongoing commercial activity.

Family-run parks continue to play an important role, offering unique character and personalized experiences that larger resorts may struggle to replicate. Parks that consistently perform well tend to reinvest in accommodations, amenities, and guest experiences to meet evolving expectations.

Kevin Darvill, sales & marketing director at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks in Devon, told Out&AboutLive, “If you’ve watched Danny Dyer’s Holiday Park, you’ll have seen how much character and charm our sector has, especially in family-owned sites where the focus is on the guest and long-term sustainability rather than quick short-term profits for shareholders.”

”But the idea that UK holiday parks need saving doesn’t reflect what we’re seeing on the ground. Demand is strong and growing, forward bookings for 2026 are currently 16% ahead, and guests are looking for high-quality, flexible breaks without all the faff.”

He added, “At Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks, we’ve continued to invest in accommodation, facilities and guest experience because today’s holidaymaker expects more, and rightly so. The modern holiday park that’s had continual investment offers fantastic value, great food and entertainment, the kind that keeps people coming back year after year.”

Caravan holidays appeal to travelers for their simplicity and flexibility. Self-catering accommodations, the ability to travel without flights or luggage limits, and family-friendly short breaks allow visitors to manage budgets and itineraries with ease.

For operators, this highlights the importance of maintaining high standards of accommodation, diversifying experiences, and marketing the sector’s convenience and value.

As interest in holiday parks grows and transaction volumes continue to rise, 2026 is shaping up as a significant year for the sector. While media exposure like The Dyers’ Caravan Park may influence awareness, the data indicates a broader trend of reinvestment and modernization that is likely to sustain demand in the coming years.
