Two Hoots Glamping Site, an adults-only retreat near Bighton, Hampshire, has been named Best Adult-Only Site in South East England at the 2026 Camping and Glamping Awards. The site, owned by Shaun and Michele Ascough, received recognition from judges for providing a “truly great experience” in “high quality surroundings.”
The park, located approximately 30 minutes from Southampton, specialises in offering peaceful and quiet accommodation in a rural setting. Mr Ascough said:
“There are lots of superb holiday parks throughout Southern England which cater for families with youngsters. Our specialisation, though, is peaceful, quiet surroundings in glorious countryside, and we tend to attract the type of visitors who are seeking exactly that type of escape.”
Since taking over the site four years ago, the couple have hosted guests from across the UK and mainland Europe. Plans are underway to expand the site with additional luxury safari-style holiday homes.
The five-acre property, situated near the South Downs National Park, supports local wildlife, including hare, red squirrels, deer, pheasants, red kites, and glowworms. A dedicated wildlife meadow also attracts pollinators such as honey bees and butterflies.
Mr Ascough described the award as a “fantastic finale to a very busy year,” noting the diversity of visitors in a report by the Daily Echo.
“Some of our guests are teachers and child care professionals, and are perhaps happy not to be reminded of their day jobs when they go away for a break. Others include young professionals in motorhomes and campervans, and also mature couples who just want to take it easy and enjoy the birdsong.”

Two Hoots is a member of the Tranquil Parks consortium, a network of independent adults-only parks, and is currently the only member site in South East England. For business owners, the recognition highlights a market opportunity for adult-focused accommodations that combine privacy, natural surroundings, and sustainable wildlife management.
