Tree Tents Unveils 2025 Birdhouse Modular Tiny House for Sustainable Outdoor Hospitality

Tree Tents, a UK-based design and manufacturing company known for its elevated outdoor structures, has unveiled its latest product, the Birdhouse Modular Tiny House.

Scheduled for a 2025 release, the Birdhouse Modular is designed as a component-based flatpack system intended to address several long-standing issues in the prefab housing market, including transport costs, terrain adaptability, and structural flexibility.

The design draws inspiration from children’s building blocks and emphasizes modularity, sustainability, and minimal environmental impact. Its construction relies on wood and aluminum materials, selected for their balance of strength and weight rather than aesthetics alone.

Unlike many prefab systems that require heavy machinery or specialized labor, the Birdhouse Modular can be assembled using basic tools, making it more accessible for remote or DIY-oriented installations.

According to an article published by Yanko Design, each unit arrives in flatpack form, which Tree Tents says allows the components to fit into standard shipping containers. This significantly reduces transportation expenses and allows international delivery.

Once on-site, the structures can be elevated on an adjustable stilt foundation system, enabling placement on uneven or sensitive terrain without requiring extensive ground preparation.

Optional add-ons such as outdoor kitchens and porches can be integrated post-installation, expanding living space without permanent alterations.

At launch, the Birdhouse Modular will start at $32,000, with the original base model offering 84 square feet of interior space.

The company emphasizes customization through its made-to-order production model, allowing glamping operators, campground owners, and land developers to tailor structures to specific site conditions or guest experiences.

The company’s previous offerings include the original Tree Tent, the Fuselage all-terrain cabin, and the Airspace canvas shelter, all of which share a design ethos centered on elevation and site-sensitive construction.

The Birdhouse Modular enters a competitive and segmented prefab market.

Competitors range from high-tech prefab units by companies like Nestron, which start around $59,000 and feature integrated smart technology, to more budget-focused shipping container-based structures priced under $20,000.

Tree Tents aims to differentiate its product through flexibility, photogenic design, and sustainability.

This aesthetic and environmental focus has particular relevance for glamping businesses, which increasingly seek unique, media-friendly accommodations that resonate with eco-conscious guests.

Additionally, features like panoramic windows and multi-use furniture aim to maximize light and livability in compact spaces.

For business owners in outdoor hospitality, the Birdhouse Modular offers potential value not only through its ease of installation and scalability but also through the brand recognition and guest appeal Tree Tents has cultivated.

With an eye toward both function and form, the system reflects a broader trend toward flexible, sustainable lodging options that support personalized guest experiences.

Assembly times are typically measured in days rather than weeks, and the company also offers solar and off-grid options for remote deployment.

According to Tree Tents, the system allows for straightforward future expansion by adding new modules or functional components.

As glamping and eco-lodging continue to grow, the Birdhouse Modular may offer operators a scalable and cost-efficient way to introduce unique accommodations on challenging or sensitive landscapes.
