Some of the UK’s highest-rated campsites are still open for bookings this August bank holiday, with stays starting at £20 per night. From the forests of Dumfries and Galloway to Cornwall’s coastline and the Brecon Beacons in Wales, 10 sites across England, Scotland, and Wales are offering last-minute availability.
Campsites.co.uk, a booking platform for camping, touring, and glamping, has highlighted sites from its outstanding sites list that still have availability for the holiday weekend. The list, which showcases award-winning and consistently well-reviewed locations, includes destinations in Scotland, Wales, and England.
In Scotland, Balloch O Dee in Dumfries and Galloway is offering stays from £20 per night for two people. Located on the edge of Galloway National Forest Park, the site is known for wildlife spotting and its communal cookhouse.

Guests have described it as an “absolutely stunning location” and “a peaceful campsite where you can relax and unwind with great touches.”
Also in Scotland, Barrow Campsite Nairn near Inverness is open from £25 per night. The family-run site features countryside views, free WiFi, a play park, and a shop selling local produce. Situated at the gateway of the North Coast 500, the location gives visitors access to popular Highland routes and attractions.
In Wales, Lakeside Caravan Park in Brecon is available from £24 per night. Positioned near Llangorse Lake in the Brecon Beacons, the park offers opportunities for watersports, boat hire, and lakeside relaxation. One guest noted it was “so peaceful and relaxing” with “facilities that were just perfect.”

Cornwall has multiple sites still open for bookings. Cardinney Caravan and Camping Park near Penzance, an adult-only site, is priced from £26 per night. Tehidy Holiday Park in Illogan, also £26 per night, is a Green Tourism Gold Award winner offering family facilities such as a play area and games room.
One reviewer called it “the best campsite we have ever stayed at” while another praised “the cleanliness was just something else.”
Mena Farm in Bodmin, starting at £28 per night, provides a fishing spot, indoor games barn, and summer food stalls. Guests have described it as “old school camping with a modern twist” and “so peaceful and tranquil.”
In Devon, Hallsdown Farm Touring Park in Barnstaple offers adult-only touring pitches from £28 per night.

Somerset also features in the late-availability list. Greenacres Camping in Glastonbury, at £21 per night, is family-focused with spacious pitches, a playground, and bike hire.
Burton Springs Holidays in Bridgwater, at £28 per night, offers lakefront camping, a dog-friendly environment, and a short drive to the beach.
In Kent, Coxhill Camping in Dover is open from £30 per night. The site includes private woodland and access to the Kent Downs and White Cliffs of Dover.
All 10 sites highlighted by Campsites.co.uk hold review scores above 4.8 out of 5, reflecting strong feedback from visitors. The company, which launched in 2015, now lists more than 3,000 UK sites.
