The Apple Farm Glamping Site to Feature on Channel 4’s Four In A Bed

A family-run glamping site near Stratford-upon-Avon will feature on national television next week as part of Channel 4’s reality series Four In A Bed

The Apple Farm in Snitterfield is one of four businesses participating in the program, which airs daily from Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26. The episode focused on The Apple Farm will be broadcast on Tuesday.

Owners Charlotte Cleveley and Matthew Wood will represent the site in the competition, which invites hospitality operators from across the UK to stay at each other’s properties, provide feedback, and pay what they feel is a fair rate. The winner is announced in Friday’s final episode.

The Apple Farm’s appearance coincides with the launch of two newly built boutique Shepherd’s Huts, designed to provide en suite facilities and a blend of rustic and modern features.

“We had a great time in the two weeks filming the show. It’s a full-on experience but we met some lovely people with lots of fun along the way,” Cleveley told Warwickshire World

“One bit of feedback we got was that they didn’t like walking to the toilets so we made sure to make the new Shepherd’s Huts en suite!”

Established in 2016, the glamping business sits on a 55-acre former fruit farm purchased by Cleveley’s late father. Over the years, it has diversified from camping pitches and bell tents to offering more structured accommodation, with the new Shepherd’s Huts marking its latest development.

In addition to providing holiday stays, The Apple Farm also operates as a care farm under the initiative “Sam’s Farm.”

Named after Cleveley’s brother, who has cerebral palsy, the program provides opportunities for people with special needs and varying abilities to connect with farming and the outdoors. “Through the care farm we will be doing our bit to address this by opening our doors to a wide range of people with different needs and abilities,” she said.

For professionals in the outdoor hospitality sector, The Apple Farm illustrates how diversification strategies can help rural businesses navigate challenges such as rising operational costs and unpredictable weather.

The combination of glamping accommodations and care farming demonstrates how sites can broaden their revenue streams while fostering community engagement. Cleveley added:

“Diversifying into glamping has been a lifeline for us, and after 10 successful years with camping pitches and bell tents, the Shepherd’s Huts are a natural next step. Alongside our care farm, they allow us to sustain the business for the future while creating opportunities for guests.”
