South Lytchett Manor Achieves Dual National Awards for Holiday Park Excellence

South Lytchett Manor Camping and Caravan Park in Poole has been recognised with two national awards, maintaining its position among the country’s top-rated holiday parks.

The family-run site received the AA’s five-star platinum rating and a 99 per cent excellence score from Visit England following recent inspections and guest feedback.

The AA platinum designation, often referred to as one of the most significant recognitions in the sector, is based on a combination of guest reviews and unannounced inspections.

This year marks the tenth consecutive year that South Lytchett Manor has achieved the AA’s highest possible grading, reflecting consistent performance across facilities, service, and visitor experience.

According to the Daily Echo, Visit England’s 99 per cent excellence rating, considered a rare achievement, confirmed the park’s continued five-star status within the Holiday, Touring and Camping Park category. The award followed a comprehensive evaluation of amenities, hospitality, and guest satisfaction.

Owners Joanne and David Bridgen, who acquired the park nearly two decades ago, operate the business with their children Matt and Megan.

Under their management, the site has undergone steady upgrades to meet evolving guest expectations and diversify accommodation options. Recent additions include eight luxury Mongolian yurts, The Manor’s Tap Airstream bar, and enhancements to its café services.

Joanna Bridgen commented:

“We are a family business, and everybody here shares our passion for providing the best experiences possible for guests from the moment they arrive. That’s why these awards mean so much because they are based not just on our quality standards, but also the welcoming atmosphere and level of hospitality provided.”

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality sector, South Lytchett Manor’s recognition demonstrates the importance of sustained investment in guest experience and facilities.

Long-term consistency—such as ten consecutive years of top AA ratings—signals that prioritising both infrastructure upgrades and hospitality can strengthen reputation and drive repeat business.

The inclusion of non-traditional accommodations like yurts also illustrates how diversification can appeal to broader markets, particularly as glamping continues to grow in popularity across the UK.
