Sherwood Pines Campsite Earns Outstanding Recognition for Third Straight Year

Sherwood Pines Campsite in Nottinghamshire has been recognized as an Outstanding Campsite by Campsites.co.uk for the third consecutive year, while also expanding its accommodation offering with the introduction of new Deluxe Bothy Pods for the current season.

The Outstanding Campsite designation is part of Campsites.co.uk’s annual Outstanding Sites list, which recognizes parks that consistently perform well in areas such as customer service, facilities, and the overall visitor experience.

Earning the recognition for a third straight year places Sherwood Pines Campsite among the recurring recipients of the annual industry accolade.

The recognition coincides with the launch of the campsite’s Deluxe Bothy Pods, a new glamping accommodation designed to broaden the property’s range of lodging options.

The units can accommodate up to five guests and include a separate bedroom and living area, an ensuite restroom with a wash basin, a fully equipped kitchenette, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, electric heating, and a private veranda intended for outdoor dining. One of the new pods has also been built with an accessible ramp to better accommodate guests with mobility needs.

According to the Marketing Nottingham, the additional accommodations are intended to appeal to travelers seeking a balance between the outdoor experience of camping and the convenience of more traditional lodging.

The expansion adds to Sherwood Pines Campsite’s existing mix of camping, touring, and glamping accommodations located within Sherwood Forest, where visitors have access to walking trails, cycling routes, family attractions, and other outdoor recreation opportunities.

Spencer Pettit, director for Sherwood Pines Camping Ltd, commented on both the recognition and the expansion.

“To be recognised as an Outstanding Campsite for the third year in a row is an achievement we’re incredibly proud of. It reflects the passion and dedication of our whole team, who work tirelessly to create a fantastic experience for every guest who stays with us.”

“Launching our new Deluxe Bothy Pods at the same time makes this an especially exciting year. Whether visitors are looking for a traditional camping holiday or a little extra comfort in the heart of the forest, we now have even more ways for people to enjoy everything Sherwood Pines has to offer.”

Bookings for the Deluxe Bothy Pods are now open following their launch for the current season. The campsite reported that initial demand has been strong, with early reservations exceeding its internal expectations.

For outdoor hospitality professionals, the combination of industry recognition and investment in upgraded accommodations reflects a broader trend within the camping and glamping sectors.

Operators are increasingly diversifying lodging options to attract a wider range of guests, including travelers who may be new to camping but are seeking higher-comfort outdoor experiences. Features such as private facilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, and accessibility improvements can help broaden a property’s appeal while supporting year-round occupancy and premium pricing strategies.

At the same time, third-party recognition programs can serve as a marketing tool that reinforces guest confidence and highlights consistent operational standards, particularly in competitive regional tourism markets.
