Leeds-based public relations agency Prohibition has expanded its work within the outdoor hospitality sector, continuing its partnership with European glamping company Feather Down Farms.
The agency was first appointed in September 2024 to execute a short-term campaign promoting Feather Down’s reopening for the April 2025 season.
The campaign aimed to raise brand awareness, increase bookings, and establish the company as a leading choice for family-oriented glamping experiences.
Feather Down Farms operates more than 50 locations on working farms across the UK and Europe, offering off-grid stays in canvas accommodations without electricity or Wi-Fi.
The experience is designed to encourage digital detoxing and connection with nature. Guests typically participate in farm tours and animal interactions, providing rural experiences while generating additional income streams for host farmers.
Following the success of the initial campaign, Feather Down extended its relationship with Prohibition. The agency launched a subsequent initiative, “Destination Detox,” which received national media coverage and targeted UK families seeking experiential travel.
The integrated campaign aimed to position Feather Down as a destination for meaningful escapes aligned with contemporary lifestyle trends such as sustainability and digital disconnection.
In addition to campaign development, Prohibition now oversees ongoing press office duties and strategic media relations for both consumer and trade audiences.
The agency is also supporting Feather Down’s broader goals of increasing brand visibility, expanding its farm partner network, and promoting its model as a viable rural diversification strategy.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Chris Norton, founder of Prohibition, said: “Feather Down is a brilliant brand doing something really unique in the UK travel space. The team has a strong sense of purpose, a growing farm network, and a product that taps into some of the biggest lifestyle trends we’re seeing – sustainability, simplicity, and time together.”
”We’re proud to be supporting their mission and helping more families discover the joy of digital-free escapes.”
Josie Fowler, marketing manager at Feather Down, said: “We’ve been really impressed by Prohibition’s approach – they understand our values and bring great ideas and energy to the table. Their support has been invaluable as we expand our offer and continue welcoming new host farms into the Feather Down family.”
For business owners in the outdoor hospitality industry, the partnership between Feather Down and Prohibition underscores the importance of strategic PR and media relations in driving brand growth, especially in sectors that combine rural enterprise with experience-driven tourism.
The success of campaigns like “Destination Detox” illustrates how off-grid travel and sustainable tourism can be leveraged to attract new audiences while supporting farm diversification.
