Pheasant Roost in Yorkshire Highlights Evolving Standards in UK Glamping

Set amid the Yorkshire Wolds, Pheasant Roost offers glamping accommodation designed to combine rural tranquility with modern comforts.

The site, which received a Visit England Gold Award in April 2021, is part of a growing trend in the UK where glamping operators continue to elevate standards for outdoor stays while maintaining a connection with nature.

The pod features an open-plan living space with underfloor heating, a kitchenette equipped with a gas hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave, and a sitting area with a sofa that converts into a bed.

The en suite includes a shower, basin, and WC, while amenities such as WiFi, Freeview television, and USB charging points provide convenience for guests. Outdoors, visitors can make use of rattan furniture, a covered hot tub, and a Kadai fire pit, with logs and additional packages available on-site.

Located in a large meadow, Pheasant Roost sits apart from two other pods—The Vale View and The Beehive—allowing for privacy and space.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small fee, and extra guests can be accommodated at an additional cost. The property is within walking distance of a local pub and offers easy access to regional attractions such as the North Yorkshire Water Park, approximately a 25-minute drive away.

For operators in the outdoor hospitality sector, Pheasant Roost exemplifies how rural accommodations can attract visitors seeking nature-based experiences without sacrificing comfort.

The site’s blend of sustainable design, digital connectivity, and thoughtful amenities aligns with industry trends emphasizing year-round occupancy and guest satisfaction through quality infrastructure.

Its use of energy-efficient features, such as electric and underfloor heating, also reflects a broader move toward low-impact glamping experiences.

The local area further enhances the site’s appeal. Guests can explore the nearby Wolds Way walking trail or visit Malton, often referred to as the “food capital of Yorkshire,” known for its annual Food Lovers Festival held each May.

Coastal destinations such as Scarborough and Whitby are within a 40-minute drive, offering traditional seaside experiences that complement the inland charm of the Yorkshire countryside.

By combining location, comfort, and experience, Pheasant Roost represents the evolving standards of glamping in the UK market.
