Pettycur Bay Holiday Park in Kinghorn, Fife, has been recognized as the Best Family Business at the 2024 Courier Business Awards.
The event, held on October 26 in partnership with Henderson Loggie, drew more than 750 attendees and was hosted by BBC broadcaster Jason Mohammed.
The park, owned and operated by the Wallace family, has been part of the region’s tourism landscape for over four decades and is now under its third generation of family management.
Alongside Pettycur Bay Holiday Park, the family’s business portfolio includes The Bay Hotel, The Old Manor Hotel in Lundin Links, and two additional caravan parks across Fife.
According to the Edinburgh Reporter, Director Tommy Wallace said the award is a reflection of the family’s long-term commitment to hospitality and community.
“We’ve been doing this for over forty years, and have strong family values. Fife is a very good place to do business. We started up with a caravan park with 107 caravans, and now have 600 caravans. We have another two caravan parks, along with two hotels, so we’ve expanded quite a bit.”
Wallace added that the recognition was meaningful for the entire team.
“It’s been a fantastic experience to attend this awards night, and we’re absolutely delighted to be walking away with this prize and bringing it back to Fife’s ‘Sunshine Coast’. It’s for the whole team. We will be celebrating this achievement for a good while yet!”
He also encouraged other businesses to take part in similar recognition programs.
“It’s always daunting to put yourself up against other businesses, everyone who has entered has done so well in highlighting what they do, but I think we do certainly have something very special at Pettycur Bay Holiday Park, which has been recognized by the Judges. We are very grateful.”
The Courier Business Awards offer a platform for companies across Tayside, Fife, and Stirling to showcase innovation and entrepreneurship.
