Peak View Gardens Hosts Summer Pop-Up Pizza Nights in Somerset

A Somerset campsite will combine outdoor accommodation with local food offerings this summer as Peak View Gardens in Lower Weare opens for the season from Friday, July 4, to Sunday, August 31.

The site, located near Axbridge, will be open for both traditional tent pitches and stays in fully furnished bell tents.

As part of its seasonal programming, the campsite is partnering with local pizza business Haverslice to host a series of pop-up pizza nights. Scheduled events will take place from 5 pm to 8 pm on July 4 and 18, and again on August 1, 15, and 29.

The evenings will feature wood-fired pizzas made with homemade dough and seasonal ingredients. The addition of food-themed events may offer a low-barrier example of how smaller sites can expand guest engagement and diversify revenue streams.

According to a report published by The Weston Mercury, eight resident alpacas will also be on-site throughout the season.

While animal attractions may not be suitable for every campground, the presence of animals can be a draw for families and offer marketing opportunities via social media or special programming.

A spokesperson for Peak View Gardens said: “Everyone is welcome to drop by on pizza nights to soak up the friendly, laid-back atmosphere under the summer skies.”

They added: “With tent pitches, bell tents, and alpacas for company, Peak View Gardens is the perfect spot for a memorable summer getaway.”

While the site is modest in scale, the combination of accommodation, event programming, and local food partnerships illustrates a growing trend in outdoor hospitality.

Campground operators and glamping businesses may find value in integrating similar small-scale experiences to enhance visitor satisfaction, attract local day-trippers, or increase mid-week occupancy.

Collaborations with nearby producers or food vendors can also create new revenue opportunities without the need for large infrastructure investments.
