New Seasonal Glamping Site Proposed in East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire

A new plan for a glamping site has been proposed in East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, England. The site, located off Kneeton Road opposite Lammas Farm, is set to be a seasonal business, operating between April and October. 

The proposal includes eight bell tents and 13 shepherd huts or glamping pods. In addition, the plan includes the creation of three triple shower room units and parking facilities.

The glamping site, if approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council, would feature hot tubs positioned next to some of the shepherd huts. 

The application was put forward by developers Willis and Co on behalf of the applicant Mr P Kerry. The planning statement states that the site would be seasonal, with structures dismantled and stored away throughout the winter.

The layout of the site is designed to preserve the openness of the greenbelt. The applicant already holds a licence for a certified location on the site allowing the use of five shepherd huts and an increased number of tents. 

The application was submitted to ensure the business remains financially viable by increasing the number of proposed shepherd huts on the site.

The glamping site is located near cider apple orchards and vineyards. According to the planning statement, the glamping site will help support the vineyard business, as well as local businesses like The Royal Oak pub. 

A new access to the site will be created to the north of the site onto Old Hill Lane. There is existing access north of the site off Kneeton Road.

The planning statement suggests that the proposed site will make a positive contribution to the area as it will be well designed, creating an inclusive safe and attractive environment. 

The outdoor holiday spaces will encourage the enjoyment of the outdoors and is within walking distance to the local village. This will aid to boost the local economy, as well as reducing the need to travel by car during the stay. 

The proposed bell tents, shepherds huts/glamping pods will be adaptable and movable to meet any demands and effects of climate change.
