New Glamping Site Opens in Worcestershire With Focus on Sustainability

A new glamping destination has launched near Evesham, aiming to combine eco-conscious tourism with a tranquil countryside experience. Orchard Blossom Luxury Glamping officially opened on May 1 in Cropthorne, Worcestershire.

The site, currently operating with one luxury tent, has received bookings from both international and domestic visitors, including guests from the United States, Portsmouth, and Brighton.

Helen Christopher, owner of the site, described the initial reception as overwhelmingly positive.

“Since opening less than a month ago, we have had back-to-back bookings since then,” she told Evesham Journal. “So far it’s gone down really, really well.”

The glamping site plans to expand to a total of five tents, offering adults-only accommodations designed as a quiet retreat.

In addition to providing upscale amenities, the site incorporates an environmental component: each guest is invited to plant a tree as part of an effort to restore the orchard that gives the business its name.

“For every booking, we are planting a new tree and restoring the orchard,” Christopher said. “It would have been easy to sell the land, but what good will that do?”

Located near the Cotswolds and within reach of Birmingham and Bristol, the site is positioned to attract urban travelers seeking peaceful rural escapes.

Nearby attractions include the town of Broadway and the city of Worcester, alongside various dining options in and around Evesham.

Christopher, who has over two decades of experience in marketing, launched the venture following the passing of her father, who left behind four acres of land.

Her decision to transform the property into a glamping destination reflects a growing trend in the outdoor hospitality sector, where landowners are leveraging unique landscapes to provide boutique, nature-based stays.

For outdoor hospitality professionals, Orchard Blossom illustrates how combining local heritage, sustainability, and regional tourism assets can help create a differentiated product in a competitive glamping market.

Its early success, backed by community support and high guest engagement, may offer a model for similar ventures looking to tap into the increasing demand for personalized and eco-conscious travel experiences.

“We’ve also had people from Portsmouth and Brighton, as well as America,” Christopher noted. “Everyone always knocks Evesham, but it’s a beautiful part of the country, and it’s too good not to share.”
