Manor Farm Caravan Park Promoted as Value Option for UK Holidaymakers

Camping near Chester is being promoted as an affordable alternative to international travel, with nightly stays starting at £12 for two people at Manor Farm Caravan Park in Tattenhall, approximately 20 minutes from the city. 

The rates, listed on the outdoor booking platform Pitchup.com, include a grass pitch with electric hookup. Hardstanding pitches are also available starting at £14 per night. 

Amenities at the park include hot showers and a covered washing-up area, making it a basic but functional choice for budget-conscious travelers.

Pitchup.com estimates additional daily expenses at around £23 per person, making a short stay significantly more affordable than many international holiday destinations. 

The company contrasted this pricing with findings from the latest Post Office Family Holiday Report, which named Marmaris, Turkey, the best value family holiday destination in Europe. 

According to The Standard, the average spend per family for ten ‘holiday essentials’—excluding accommodation—was £128.99 in Marmaris, underscoring the relative cost efficiency of UK-based camping trips.

Pitchup.com was launched in 2009 by Dan Yates, previously with Lastminute.com, and has since processed £450 million in bookings. In the last year alone, the platform facilitated 5.7 million booked nights across its listings. 

Today, the site offers users access to more than 6,000 outdoor accommodation sites across 67 countries. These listings include everything from traditional campgrounds and caravan parks to unconventional and remote stays that may otherwise lack online visibility.

The company has received industry recognition over the years, including being named Best UK Travel Website of the Year by the British Travel Press Awards in 2011. It has also earned Feefo’s Platinum Trusted Service Award six years in a row, a mark of consistent positive customer feedback.

For outdoor hospitality business owners, these developments point to a continued demand for low-cost, flexible accommodation, particularly within domestic tourism markets. 

As consumers weigh the rising costs of travel abroad, competitive pricing and visibility on well-trafficked platforms like Pitchup.com may prove essential for driving occupancy and bookings through the shoulder season.
