Luxury Glamping Pod in Tenby Fetches £73,000 at Auction After Bidding Frenzy

A luxury safari-style glamping pod located in Tenby, Wales, was recently sold at auction for £73,000 following a competitive round of bidding.

The Robin Hood Safari Unit, situated within Redberth Gardens holiday park, had originally been listed with a guide price of £45,000, but saw 73 bids placed by seven interested parties during the auction hosted by Paul Fosh Auctions.

Described as one of the most desirable units on-site, the pod attracted interest for its high-end amenities and potential as a turnkey investment.

“This pod really has the lot,” Sean Roper of Paul Fosh Auctions told the Pembrokeshire Herald. “It’s the ultimate glamping experience – first there’s the location, and then there are the fabulous facilities.”

Designed to accommodate up to six people, the unit features a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a cabin bed.

Its private bathroom includes a freestanding egg-shaped bath and separate shower, and the kitchen comes fully equipped with a washer dryer, dishwasher, oven, and hob. A log burner provides warmth during cooler months, and three of the rooms are fitted with smart TVs.

The outdoor amenities include an enclosed decking area featuring a sunken hot tub, copper outdoor shower, BBQ and firepit area, outdoor seating, and a projector screen.

The pod was marketed as a fully managed investment, sold complete with all furnishings, future guest bookings, and a monthly service charge of £261. According to auction materials, the unit generated £70,042.95 in rental income during 2024.

The property’s strong performance and fast sale highlight growing demand for high-end, ready-to-rent glamping accommodations, a trend relevant to outdoor hospitality operators seeking alternative revenue models or expansion opportunities.

Turnkey glamping units—particularly those in scenic locations—can command high nightly rates and attract a consistent flow of bookings. For business owners, this sale demonstrates both investor appetite and consumer interest in luxury, experience-driven stays.

The next online auction hosted by Paul Fosh Auctions is scheduled to begin at 12:00pm on Tuesday, September 2, and will run until 5:00pm on Thursday, September 4.
