A luxury glamping pod located in Redberth Gardens, near the coastal town of Tenby in Pembrokeshire, recently sold at auction for £121,000, more than double its initial guide price of £45,000.
The sale took place through Paul Fosh Auctions and attracted significant interest, with eight bidders placing a total of 80 bids during the online auction.
The property, which has been described as a high-end “glitzy” glamping pod, comes equipped with a range of modern features aimed at providing a comfortable and visually appealing guest experience.
According to Sean Roper of Paul Fosh Auctions, “It’s hardly surprising that this truly awesome glamping pod not only created literally waves of interest but eventually sold for such a good price.”
Roper noted that the pod represents an elevated standard of camping, stating, “The glamping pod that we had on offer in our online auction is glitzy camping taken up a few notches to a completely different level.”
Designed to accommodate up to four guests, the open-plan space includes a double bed, a sofa bed, a private shower room, and a fully fitted kitchen.
Outside, the pod features a wide range of amenities tailored to the luxury holiday market, such as a bar, TV, projector screen, swing, fridge, pool table, outdoor shower, fire pit, and a free-standing bath.
The sale also included all internal and external furniture and fittings, including a hot tub and the aforementioned entertainment features.
“This turn-key investment, which comes fully managed and what’s even more comforting from an investor’s point of view, with onward bookings from people bursting with enthusiasm to get down to Pembrokeshire and chill at this most marvellous location, sold with all internal and external furniture and fittings including hot tub, pool table and bar,” Roper told the Western Telegraph.
The glamping pod was sold freehold with vacant possession. Financial records indicate that it generated £81,935 in revenue in 2022 and £73,522 in 2023, suggesting a strong rental history that may appeal to prospective investors or operators in the outdoor hospitality industry.
For glamping site operators, this sale underscores the potential value appreciation of well-equipped, aesthetically appealing units, particularly when located in popular tourist destinations like Pembrokeshire.
With rising consumer interest in unique and visually engaging accommodations—often driven by platforms such as Instagram—business owners may find opportunities to enhance revenue through upgraded amenities and distinctive design choices that resonate with today’s travelers.
