Kits Coty Glamping in Aylesford, Kent, received two awards at the 2025 Beautiful South Tourism Awards, with the business named Glamping Business of the Year and a member of its housekeeping team recognised individually.
The ceremony took place in 2025 at the Grand Hotel in Brighton and was organized by Tourism South East, which presented a total of 72 awards to tourism and hospitality businesses across the region.
Kits Coty Glamping secured the Glamping Business of the Year title for the fourth time. In the same evening, housekeeping assistant Sarah Anderson was named Unsung Hero, highlighting the contribution of behind-the-scenes staff within the tourism sector.
Owners Ami and Mark Culver responded to the recognition by saying they were “over the moon” after hearing the results.
“When you run your own business, you don’t have someone patting you on the back telling you you’re doing a good job,” they told Kent Online. “So when your business is recognised by external experts as being outstanding in its field, it’s a great feeling.”
The Unsung Hero award carried particular significance for the Kits Coty team. Ami and Mark described Anderson as someone who “goes above and beyond” in her role, adding that the business “would not be what it is without her.”
The award category is intended to recognise individuals whose work is not always visible to guests but plays a critical role in daily operations and customer experience.
Founded in 2014, Kits Coty Glamping was established with the aim of creating a small-scale, personal glamping site with an emphasis on customer service and memorable stays.
The site currently offers five themed accommodation options, including a shepherd’s hut, a fairy-themed cabin and a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-inspired cottage. Over the years, the business has received gold, silver and bronze awards at the Beautiful South Tourism Awards, reflecting consistent performance across judging cycles.
The 2025 awards recognized excellence across a wide range of categories, including accommodation, food and drink, attractions, experiences, events, visitor information, wedding and business venues, and areas such as sustainability, accessibility and dog-friendly tourism.
For owners and operators in the outdoor hospitality, glamping, caravan and RV sectors, the results underscore the role of consistent service delivery, staff engagement and clear positioning in award success.
