Innflux Reveals Proposals for Wakeboarding and Glamping Destination

Plans have been submitted for a new multi-activity sports and leisure destination in mid-Wales that would combine water sports, outdoor recreation, and glamping.

Innflux Action Sports Park has unveiled proposals to develop Brays Pool in Llywernog, Ceredigion, into a 20-acre site centered around a 10-acre lake.

The plans have been released as part of a pre-planning consultation, and local residents and stakeholders have been invited to provide feedback.

The proposed facility would sit near existing tourist attractions such as the Bwlch Nant yr Arian Red Kite feeding station and the Silver Mountain Experience, which draw visitors to the region throughout the year.

If approved, the project could further enhance the area’s reputation as a destination for outdoor recreation and tourism.

According to WalesOnline, Innflux’s proposal outlines a wide range of activities, including a wakeboarding cable park, inflatable aqua park, paddle sports, and open-water swimming on the lake.

Land-based features would include axe throwing, a sauna, camping and glamping accommodation, and a café.

A visitor center, designed with a steel and wooden frame and finished with a mix of wood cladding and black corrugated sheet material, would anchor the site.

The plans also include a reception, shop, changing rooms, toilet and shower facilities, a storage area, and parking for 53 vehicles.

Accommodation would be split between a campsite with 10 pitches and a glamping site with 10 pods. The glamping structures would mirror the visitor center’s materials and design to create a consistent aesthetic across the site.

John Wells, who is leading the project, emphasized his connection to the region. He explained that Innflux Action Sports Park grew from his desire to “make world-class action sports accessible in Mid Wales.”

The company aims to create “a premier action sports park that inspires healthy, active lifestyles while supporting our community and protecting our environment.”

For professionals in the outdoor hospitality sector, the project signals potential opportunities and challenges.

The addition of a large-scale, multi-use facility could increase tourism traffic in the region and create spillover benefits for nearby campgrounds, holiday parks, and hospitality businesses.

At the same time, operators may need to consider how new attractions influence visitor demand, pricing, and competition within the local accommodation market.

By keeping an eye on projects like Innflux, industry stakeholders can anticipate shifts in consumer expectations toward more activity-oriented, experience-driven stays.
