Holme Valley Caravan and Camping Park Named UK’s Most-Loved Campsite 2026

Holme Valley Caravan and Camping Park in Thongsbridge has been named the UK’s most-loved campsite for 2026, following a public vote conducted by Out & About Live. The recognition reflects visitor feedback on the site’s environment, facilities, and overall experience.

Jack Hart from Out & About Live said: “The fact that this award was decided by a public vote lends extra kudos to Holme Valley – it really is a mark of excellence, showing clearly that campers and tourers have enjoyed brilliant holidays here. This award is very well deserved, as the team at Holme Valley have created a high-quality campsite in a stunning natural environment.”

The 16-acre family-run site is situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park and includes meadows, a fishing lake, wildlife-rich woodland, and access to walking routes such as the Pennine Way.

According to the Telegraph & Argus, the park has consistently maintained the David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation, highlighting its commitment to protecting local wildlife and habitats.

Facilities at Holme Valley Caravan and Camping Park include two heated amenities blocks with underfloor heating, accessible showers, family bathrooms, a licensed shop, laundry facilities, and a children’s adventure golf course.

The park also offers glamping cabins, the crazi-bugz woodland track, and a range of pitches suitable for tents, motorhomes, and caravans.

Located near Holmfirth, known as the setting for the television series Last of the Summer Wine, the site attracts walkers and nature enthusiasts exploring the Pennine Hills and the River Holme. The park operates year-round, closing only for two weeks at Christmas. Pitches start from £28.50 for two adults with an electric hook-up.

For outdoor hospitality businesses, Holme Valley’s recognition demonstrates the value of combining a strong conservation ethos with diversified facilities. Sites that balance environmental management with a range of accommodations and family-focused amenities may see increased customer satisfaction and repeat bookings.
