This acquisition follows Highland Holidays’ success in operating Ben Nevis Holiday Park in Fort William and Tyndrum Holiday Park.
The new Oban site is based on Gallanachmore Farm and offers guests “picturesque views” of the surrounding mountains, the Sound of Kerrera, and the Isle of Kerrera.
The acquisition is expected to bring exciting new developments to the park. Highland Holidays plans to build a “state-of-the-art” cafe and takeaway facility and an onsite convenience store for guests and holiday home owners.
Additionally, new hard-standing touring pitches will be added to the park, and a variety of new luxury hot tub lodges, static caravans, and “hot tub glamping pods” will be available for guests. Private sales of premium lodges will also be offered.
Andrew Campbell, director of Highland Holidays, expressed his excitement for the new venture, stating, “We are extremely excited to develop a holiday park in such a unique location in Oban. It’s already a popular park and has huge potential.”
He added that, as a family-run business, they prioritize family values and seek to create local employment opportunities while complementing existing tourism businesses in the area.
The acquisition of OBAN Caravan and Camping Park by Highland Holidays is significant news for private campground owners and operators in the nearby area.
The new investment in the park is expected to attract more visitors to the region and increase tourism footfall.
This, in turn, could lead to increased business for nearby private campground owners and operators as tourists seek additional accommodation options during their stay.
Additionally, the development of new facilities and lodgings in the park will offer visitors more options for their stay. The addition of a cafe and convenience store provides guests with added convenience, while the new luxury lodgings offer a more upscale experience.
This variety of offerings may attract a wider range of visitors to the area, thereby benefiting not only the OBAN Caravan and Camping Park but also other private campground owners and operators in the region.
The OBAN Caravan and Camping Park acquisition is a promising development for the tourism industry in the region.
The investment in the park by Highland Holidays is expected to enhance the overall visitor experience and generate local employment opportunities while complementing existing tourism businesses in the area.
Private campground owners and operators in the nearby area may also benefit from the increased tourism footfall and the additional lodging options offered by the park.
Overall, the acquisition is a positive development for the tourism industry in the region and is expected to bring continued growth and success to the area’s private campground owners and operators.
