Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site Wins 2025 Scottish Hospitality Award

Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site, located in Musselburgh on the outskirts of Edinburgh, has been named Camping Site of the Year at the 2025 Scottish Hospitality Awards.

The accolade was presented during a black-tie ceremony held last week, further cementing the park’s growing reputation within the outdoor hospitality sector.

This marks the latest in a series of recognitions for Drummohr, which was previously named the best campsite in Scotland by Pitchup.com in 2024 and also received the Campsite of the Year title at the Camping Awards 2024. The park holds a five-star rating from both the AA and VisitScotland.

Open throughout the year, Drummohr offers a variety of accommodation options including luxury self-catering lodges with hot tubs, themed glamping pods, and ensuite bothies.

There are also grass and hard-standing pitches with electric hook-ups available for touring caravans, motorhomes, and tents, according to the Scottish Sun.

The site is family-friendly and features a large playground, as well as pet-friendly amenities such as a scenic dog walk, dog wash, and accommodations where up to two dogs are welcome free of charge.

Drummohr’s amenities include underfloor-heated washrooms, free hot showers, accessible family bathrooms, and a heated indoor campers’ kitchen and laundry area.

The park’s location on the Firth of Forth, just 10 miles from Edinburgh, provides convenient access to public transportation and a range of nearby attractions and events.

Site manager Angie Purves acknowledged the recognition by stating, “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award, which reflects the team’s passion and dedication to creating a brilliant place for people to come and enjoy a holiday.”

She also noted the importance of collaboration within the tourism sector, adding, “Working in the tourism industry, it’s important to work closely with other local businesses in the sector and we actively promote nearby attractions, events, and venues to our guests.”

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality industry, Drummohr’s consistent recognition points to several actionable practices: year-round operations, diversified accommodations, themed guest experiences, and integrated local partnerships.

The park’s emphasis on pet-friendly policies and accessible facilities also reflects growing consumer expectations for inclusive and versatile camping experiences. These elements, combined with strategic positioning near major transport links, are proving to be strong differentiators in a competitive market.
