Cove UK, the operator of multiple holiday parks across the United Kingdom, has entered administration, affecting a total of 11 sites. Among these are eight parks previously operated by Argyll Holidays, which Cove UK acquired for £100 million in 2022.
The other impacted sites include Solway Holiday Park, Gwel an Mor Resort, and Springwood Holiday Park. Administrators are reviewing potential sale opportunities and have issued correspondence to owners outlining the situation.
Guests with upcoming reservations at any of the affected resorts are being advised to contact the relevant site manager directly for guidance. Seal Bay Resort in West Sussex, the largest resort within the Cove UK group, remains unaffected and continues to operate normally, according to NottinghamshireLive.
Alvarez and Marsal Europe have been appointed to manage the administration of Cove Communities Holiday Park UK Holdco Limited, which oversees several subsidiary companies: Cove Communities Venture 2 Gwel an Mor OpCo Ltd, Cove Communities Venture 2 Solway OpCo Ltd, Cove Communities Venture 2 Springwood OpCo Ltd, and Cove Communities Venture 2 Argyle OpCo Ltd.
A spokesperson from Alvarez and Marsal Europe stated: “As administrators, our priority is to ensure a smooth transition and maintain stability across the parks. We are working to ensure day-to-day operations continue with minimal disruption. Owners, residents and holidaymakers should not be impacted, and can contact the site managers with any questions they may have.”
A Cove UK representative added: “We confirm that administrators have been appointed to Cove Communities Holiday Park HoldCo Limited and its subsidiaries, and this affects a number of holiday parks across the UK.”
”Seal Bay, our largest resort under the Cove UK group, is not part of the administration process and continues to trade as normal for our guests and owners. Our focus remains on serving our customers and executing our long-term strategy. We appreciate the continued support of our employees, owners and customers.”
For outdoor hospitality professionals, the administration highlights the operational and financial risks involved in managing multiple holiday park assets.
Monitoring administration proceedings and maintaining clear communication with guests and owners are critical for protecting brand reputation and maintaining revenue during ownership transitions.
