Five campsites in north Cumbria have been recognized among the top destinations in the United Kingdom in this year’s Campsites.co.uk Camping and Glamping Awards.
The annual awards celebrate excellence across the UK’s camping, glamping, and touring sectors, spotlighting businesses that provide exceptional guest experiences and demonstrate strong operational standards.
The awards, which honor sites across several national and regional categories, once again highlighted Cumbria’s strong presence in outdoor hospitality.
Known for its scenic landscapes and diverse accommodation options, Cumbria continues to attract both leisure travelers and industry recognition for its range of offerings—from simple camping experiences to luxury glamping retreats.
This year’s winners and runners-up from north Cumbria include Caldbeck Camping in Wigton, which earned the Best Budget Friendly Campsite (National) award; Church Stile Farm and Holiday Park in Seascale, named Runner-Up for Best Family Campsite (North West); Cragg Farm Camping Pods in Cockermouth, recognized as Runner-Up for Best Glamping Site (North West); Low Greenside Farm Campsite in Kirkby Stephen, which won Best Campsite (North West); and Pennine View Park, also in Kirkby Stephen, taking Runner-Up for Best Caravan Park (North West).
Carrock Glamping Pods in Wigton emerged as one of Cumbria’s standout successes, earning three distinctions: National Award for Best Glamping Site, Best Glamping Site in the North West, and Runner-Up for Best Adult-Only Site in the North West. This marks the second consecutive year that the site has been honored at the national level.
The site, which features three glamping pods with en-suite facilities, kitchens, and private verandas with hot tubs overlooking Carrock Fell, has maintained a 4.97-star guest rating.
According to The White Haven News, visitors have praised the experience, with reviews noting, “The view is phenomenal, what a sight to wake up to,” and “Everything we required and much more.”
