The Caravan and Motorhome Club has announced that all of its UK Club Campsites, along with its Head Office, have achieved Green Tourism Gold accreditation.
The milestone follows the 2025 assessment of 32 additional campsites, adding to the 122 sites that received Gold status in 2024.
Green Tourism is a certification program that evaluates businesses in the tourism sector against three core pillars: People, Places, and Planet. The Gold Award recognizes high standards of environmental management, social responsibility, and sustainable economic impact.
Harvey Alexander, director of marketing and membership services at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the teams across our network whose hard work and dedication have led to this national achievement.”
”Each Club Campsite has gone above and beyond in areas such as biodiversity protection, energy conservation, waste reduction, water efficiency, and community engagement. Their passion for sustainable tourism shines through, and it’s fantastic to see that officially recognised with Green Tourism’s highest honour.”
The assessments conducted in 2025 included new sites, while those already accredited continued to update and enhance their practices.
Future assessments are scheduled for 2026 and 2027, according to a news release. Two sites, Bunree Club Campsite and Bingham Grange Club Campsite, will undergo evaluation following redevelopment and reopening, with Bunree set for assessment in autumn 2025.
Alexander added: “This is a significant achievement for the Club. Sustainability has become a core focus in recent years, and this recognition from Green Tourism affirms our progress.”
”We remain committed to continuously improving our environmental, social, and economic performance, while helping our members get more from the great outdoors in a way that respects and protects it for future generations.”
For businesses in the outdoor hospitality industry, the Club’s accreditation underscores a growing emphasis on sustainability within the sector.
Achieving independent certification not only demonstrates environmental responsibility but also aligns with shifting guest expectations.
Travelers are increasingly seeking eco-conscious options, making sustainability efforts a factor in customer loyalty and competitive positioning.
The Caravan and Motorhome Club’s sustainability strategy includes partnerships with accredited organizations, measurement of environmental impact, and encouraging responsible behavior among staff, members, and suppliers.
By embedding sustainable practices across its operations, the Club positions itself as an example of how outdoor hospitality providers can adapt to changing environmental and market demands.
