Capfun, a European leisure operator, announced on November 7, 2025, that it has acquired Lakeshore Leisure Group, a UK-based company specializing in self-catering holiday accommodations. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lakeshore Leisure Group, founded in 2019, manages a range of properties across Devon and Cornwall, including self-catering cottages, lodges, country manor hotels, and privately owned lodges.
According to LeadsOnTrees, its portfolio currently includes three locations: Otter Falls, Lakeview Manor, and Clawford Lakes. These sites offer diverse leisure activities, such as spa services and fishing holidays.
The acquisition enables Capfun to expand its operations within the UK leisure market and integrate Lakeshore Leisure Group’s portfolio into its existing structure.
Capfun, which was founded in 2001 and employs between 1,001 and 5,000 people, operates in multiple segments of the hospitality sector, providing accommodations and leisure experiences across Europe.
For business owners in the outdoor hospitality, glamping, caravan, and RV sectors, the acquisition highlights trends in market consolidation and the strategic expansion of multi-site operators.
Capfun’s focus on combining varied accommodation types, including lodges and specialized offerings such as floating lodges and lake pods, indicates a growing emphasis on unique holiday experiences to meet evolving consumer preferences.
The integration process is expected to generate synergies, including operational efficiencies and innovation across the combined entity. For UK-based operators, this development may signal increased competition in high-demand regions and potential opportunities for partnerships or benchmarking in service delivery.
For smaller operators, understanding these trends can inform decisions about growth strategies, partnerships, or niche positioning in the market.
By acquiring Lakeshore Leisure Group, Capfun adds established UK operations to its portfolio, further diversifying its accommodation and leisure offerings. The deal underscores the continued evolution of the UK and European hospitality landscape, with larger operators seeking both geographic expansion and product diversification to remain competitive.
