Campgrounds, Glamping Sites Nominated for The East of England Tourism Awards

Finalists for The East of England Tourism Awards 2021-2022 Camping, Glamping, Holiday Park, and Self Catering Accommodation of the Year award have been revealed.

According to a report, The East of England Tourism Awards recognizes, celebrates, and supports holiday parks, sites, villages, and self-catering accommodation businesses from across the East of England that have shown resilience, imagination, and growth.

Tourism businesses operating across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and Cambridgeshire were invited to enter one of the 15 categories, which closed in October. Entries were put forward to judges for review, and judging took place.

One of the finalists is Glamp and Tipple, a luxurious glamping business founded in the first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 by Helen and Louise McCombie-Armstrong. The glamping facility offers five bell tents with private bathrooms, kitchens, and hot tubs. It is located near Attleborough in Norfolk and officially opened in April 2021.

Hippersons Boatyard is a family-owned micro-business based in Beccles, Suffolk. Hippersons Boatyard brings the river to life to guests by offering unique experiences in tourism and lodging. It collaborates alongside local businesses and communities to ensure guests get the most enjoyable experience possible.

Also nominated is Secret Meadows, a luxury glamping camp run by a family in rural Suffolk in Hasketon, close to Woodbridge. It is run by a wildlife charity situated in over 100 acres of a nature reserve.

The site was founded by Charlotte Daniel and Ross Troup in 2012. The site offers comfortable accommodations with an environmental focus. Secret Meadows now operates nine glamping units, including six safari-style tents and a two-story tent, a converted wooden horse truck, and a gypsy caravan with an accompanying shepherd’s hut.

Wild With Nature is a family-run glamping experience spread over 775 acres of Norfolk countryside. It is situated within Manor Farm’s grounds in Shropham.  It offers a variety of luxury yurts and shepherd’s huts, along with paddle boarding, sailing, and kayaking.

Wolterton Park is also nominated as a finalist, it is a historic estate located in North Norfolk that is being meticulously renovated after being abandoned for over 30 years. It is home to six luxury holiday cottages available for rent and the main hall situated within 500 acres of private parkland.

According to The East of England Tourism Awards, winners will be revealed at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire, on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
