Belfast Studio Unifies Cabin Interiors, Branding, and Digital Experience for Glamping Site

Crown Creative, a Belfast-based design studio, has completed a comprehensive redesign of Birch Cabins, a glamping provider operating on the 200-acre Florida Manor Estate in County Down, Northern Ireland.

The project covered all aspects of the brand experience, from naming and strategy to interior design, digital presence, and guest-facing materials.

The redesign was structured around a single guiding principle: creating space for stillness. This approach informed decisions across visual identity, cabin interiors, and digital platforms.

The logotype references a 17th-century sign discovered at Florida Manor, and a bespoke monogram was developed to maintain consistency across physical and digital touchpoints. The colour palette incorporates soft neutrals, warm woods, and muted greens to align with the estate’s landscape.

Crown Creative also translated this design philosophy into the cabin interiors. Oak cladding unifies the kitchen, wardrobe, and dining areas, while sliding doors conceal bathrooms equipped with walk-in showers and skylights.

Beds are positioned to maximize forest views through expansive glazing. The studio coordinated details such as timber joints to maintain visual continuity throughout each cabin.

The digital environment, including the website and social media platforms, follows the same principles, with consistent use of earthy tones, ample white space, and texture-focused photography.

According to an article published by Creative Boom, Crown Creative aimed to ensure that the online experience reflects the physical space and communicates the brand’s atmosphere across all customer touchpoints.

Local collaborations were integrated into the redesign, including textiles by Emily McIlwaine, throws from Mourne Textiles, ceramics from Annandale Brick Works, and artwork from Canvas Galleries. These elements connect the cabins to the local creative community and support the brand’s emphasis on renewal and connection.

The project received recognition at the 2025 Institute of Designers in Ireland awards, earning commendations for both brand and interior design. For hospitality professionals, Birch Cabins serves as an example of how integrated design across branding, interiors, and digital experiences can enhance guest perception and provide a consistent narrative.

The project highlights the importance of multidisciplinary planning, demonstrating how a clear conceptual foundation can guide operational and experiential decisions in private glamping and outdoor accommodations.
