The 2024 Visit Pembrokeshire Croeso Awards celebrated the achievements of local businesses and organizations that contribute to the region’s thriving tourism industry. Hosted by Jamie Owen at Pembrokeshire College, the recognition program serves as a platform for showcasing excellence in hospitality, sustainability, and inclusivity across the county.
Winners were announced in a range of categories, each reflecting a unique aspect of Pembrokeshire’s tourism offerings. Windswept Paddle Ability Water Sports received the Accessible and Inclusive Award.
Sweet Home Alpaca was celebrated for offering engaging visitor experiences, winning the Best Activity, Experience, or Tour category. Carew Castle and Tidal Mill earned the Best Attraction Award.
The event also spotlighted accommodations that enhance the visitor experience. Elm Grove Country House was named Best B&B, Inn, and Guesthouse. Florence Springs Glamping and Camping Village was also recognized as the Best Camping and Glamping destination. The Best Caravan Park award went to Trees Caravan Park.
Acknowledging the diverse preferences of travelers, additional awards honored businesses that stand out in niche categories. The Pembrokeshire Pet Bakery earned the Best Dog-Friendly Business accolade for catering to visitors with pets, while 4theRegion was recognized with the Best Event Award. The Fernery Restaurant also won Best Place to Eat.
Self-catering accommodations, a key segment of Pembrokeshire’s tourism market, were celebrated in two categories. Sleekstone Holidays won the Best Self-Catering 1-3 Units award. Bluestone National Park Resort, known for its expansive and eco-friendly accommodations, secured the Best Self-Catering 4+ Units category.
Environmental sustainability and local culture were also highlighted during the event. The Bro a Byd (Environmental and Sustainable) Award was presented to The Really Wild Emporium. Tŷ Hotel Milford Waterfront was also recognized as the Best Hotel.
The event also acknowledged hospitality and dining establishments that excel in creating welcoming spaces for locals and visitors. The Wolfe Inn in Wolfscastle received the Pub of the Year Award. The Rising Star Award was presented to Charly Dix of Lan y Mor Restaurant.
According to an article published by Western Telegraph, Emma Thornton, CEO of Visit Pembrokeshire, emphasized the collaborative effort behind the event. “This event was a result of an exciting partnership between Visit Pembrokeshire, the Seren Collection, and Pembrokeshire College, who worked together to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests,” she stated.
