Punta del Hidalgo Campsite Reports Positive Visitor Feedback Following Upgrades

The Punta del Hidalgo campsite in La Laguna has received largely positive feedback from visitors following its recent reopening and upgrades, according to a satisfaction survey conducted by the City of La Laguna’s Department of Works, Infrastructures and Accessibility.

The survey aimed to gather opinions on the campsite’s facilities, staff, and reservation system.

Ángel Chinea, the councillor responsible for the Area in the Consistory, highlighted that “most of the consultations made to unique and frequent visitors have given us very positive assessments on aspects such as the application website, the general experience during their stay, the friendliness and availability of the centre’s staff, the cleanliness and the general state of these infrastructures, which from now on will remain open during all months of the year.”

The survey reported that 90% of respondents would recommend the campsite to friends and family.

Chinea emphasized that, despite these positive reviews, “our purpose is to take into account the aspects to improve that have been transferred to us through this communication channel and to continue improving the services we offer in the 15 pitches for tents and the 63 planned for caravans.”

Throughout 2025, the campsite has undergone various improvement projects, including pruning, cleaning, maintenance, and the demolition of the old Casa del Vigilante, which was necessary to ensure safety standards for the reopening.

According to La Laguna Ahora, the main building is currently being upgraded, with further works planned for 2026, including enhancements to toilet facilities to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and the addition of an ostomy-friendly toilet.

The Punta del Hidalgo Campsite covers 24,000 square meters and can accommodate approximately 250 people, offering 63 plots for tents and caravans. It is one of the few facilities on the island that allows overnight stays for caravans and motorhomes.

According to Chinea, weekends are typically fully booked, and visitors are encouraged to make reservations during the week to access available pitches near the municipality’s coastal environment. The booking website is camping.lalaguna.es.

For outdoor hospitality professionals, the developments at Punta del Hidalgo illustrate the potential benefits of updating reservation systems, prioritizing accessibility, and maintaining consistent communication with visitors to enhance satisfaction and repeat visitation.
