From June 6 to 9, Râșnov welcomed digital nomads, overlanding fans, unconventional travelers, and van life enthusiasts of all experience levels for the fourth edition of CamperVan Fest, Romania’s most sustainable outdoor festival.
According to an article by Business Review, this year’s edition reaffirmed the event’s dual role as both a thriving community hub and a national model for sustainability.
The entire festival ran entirely on renewable energy, reinforcing its reputation as a leader among Romania’s eco-conscious events.
Families of all ages joined in, with kids in particular enjoying a hands-on introduction to sustainable living through interactive, play-based learning.
A cornerstone of the festival remained its technical workshops, offering practical sessions on topics like installing and configuring mobile photovoltaic systems.
The Romanian Red Cross led first aid training, and special sessions focused on car safety for children added to the program’s value.
Adventure seekers had the chance to test Subaru’s off-road vehicles, while others found balance through holistic health activities in nature, including campervan yoga led by Marius Achim Ștefan and energizing morning routines guided by ultra-marathoner Vlad Pop, famous for completing the 6633 Arctic Ultra in -50°C.
Throughout the weekend, attendees listened to real-life travel tales that sparked the imagination, including stories of African overland journeys and an ambitious round trip to Mongolia in a Daewoo Damas.
CamperVan Fest also served as a marketplace for innovation, featuring high-end camping and overlanding gear, including sleep systems, energy solutions, rooftop tents, magnetic cookware, pet travel accessories, and more.
A new addition this year was the expanded artisan zone, where over a dozen local makers displayed handcrafted goods such as honey, cosmetics, jewelry, knitwear, and artwork.
Outdoor cooking and local dishes satisfied festivalgoers’ appetites, with food served fresh and under the open sky.
As always, the event embraced children and pets as part of the CamperVan Fest family.
Tickets were available online in the lead-up to the event, and attendees looking to connect or revisit the full schedule and festival updates can still find everything on the CamperVan Fest Facebook page.
This year’s edition once again demonstrated how the van life lifestyle and sustainable outdoor recreation can go hand-in-hand—an inspiring example for Romania’s RV and adventure travel industries.
