Nearly 90,000 Visitors Mark Strong Start to CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf 2025

The 64th CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf has opened with strong attendance, drawing nearly 90,000 visitors during its first weekend.

Billed as the “world’s largest trade fair for mobile leisure,” the event runs through Sept. 7 and spans 15 exhibition halls and an extensive outdoor area.

According to a press release, Stefan Koschke, director of CARAVAN SALON, said the event’s appeal is linked to the continued rise of mobile holidays. “Mobile leisure holidays continue to boom and are very popular among all social classes and age groups.”

“The CARAVAN SALON is so popular because Düsseldorf is the only place where visitors can find out about the latest products in the industry in such detail and also buy them directly at the trade fair,” Koschke added.

“At the same time, the CARAVAN SALON is the world’s largest platform for industry professionals, who can exchange ideas and make contacts here,” Koschke said.

Organizers also urged visitors planning to attend the second weekend to use public transportation.

“For the second weekend, we recommend that caravanning fans use public transport due to the high number of visitors expected. As a result of the Ed Sheeran concert series, there may be traffic delays on the way back from the exhibition grounds,” Koschke added.

This year, 810 exhibitors from 41 countries are participating, showcasing a wide spectrum of products. Displays include motorhomes, caravans, base vehicles, technical equipment, conversion parts, tents, mobile homes, accessories, as well as campsites, motorhome sites, and travel destinations.

North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister President Hendrik Wüst formally opened the exhibition on Friday, Aug. 27.

During his visit, Wüst toured the halls, stopping at stands that highlighted innovations in mobile leisure and the broader caravanning sector.

Discussions during the Minister President’s visit centered on industry challenges and opportunities.

Conversations with members of the Caravaning Industry Association (CIVD) and local exhibitors addressed topics such as camping tourism in North Rhine-Westphalia, sustainability strategies, and climate-neutral energy solutions for campsite operators.

Tickets for the trade fair are tiered based on day and eligibility.

One-day tickets for adults cost €20 on weekends and €18 on weekdays. Discounted tickets are €18 on weekends and €16 on weekdays for pupils, students, ADAC members, and Club CARAVAN SALON & boot participants.

Children aged 6 to 12 can attend for €6, regardless of weekday or weekend. An afternoon ticket option, valid Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., is priced at €10.
