French RV Giant Buys Camping Home Maker, Changes Industry

Trigano has received clearance from the French Competition Authority to acquire 100% of the share capital and voting rights of BIO Habitat and its subsidiary, BIO Habitat Italia. This acquisition strengthens Trigano’s position in the European leisure vehicle and outdoor hospitality markets, marking a strategic expansion for the company according to a press release.

BIO Habitat, the Housing division of Groupe Beneteau, is a leading manufacturer of mobile homes, supplying Europe’s outdoor hospitality sector with well-known brands such as O’Hara, IRM, and Coco Sweet.

With 900 employees across seven production sites in France and Italy, BIO Habitat achieved a turnover of €319.6 million in 2023. The company’s profitability and established reputation make it a valuable addition to Trigano’s portfolio.

This acquisition is significant for the leisure vehicle industry as it boosts Trigano’s capacity to meet the rising demand for high-quality, innovative mobile homes across Europe.

Integrating BIO Habitat’s brands and expertise will allow Trigano to better address evolving consumer preferences for comfort, design, and sustainable options in outdoor hospitality.

The transaction is expected to bring synergies in purchasing, logistics, and manufacturing processes, driving efficiencies that could enhance productivity and reduce costs.

For the European leisure vehicle market, this merger promises an expanded selection of quality mobile homes, benefitting both consumers and operators in the outdoor hospitality sector.

The transaction is slated to close by the end of 2024, setting the stage for expanded growth and influence for Trigano in the industry.
