Camping La Musardière Highlights 2026 Offerings for Visitors to Fontainebleau Forest

Camping La Musardière is welcoming guests throughout the 2026 season with a range of accommodations and recreational amenities designed to serve travelers visiting the Fontainebleau Forest, one of France’s best-known destinations for hiking and climbing.

Located in Milly-la-Forêt, the campground offers traditional camping pitches alongside fully equipped mobile homes, providing options for tent campers, van travelers, motorhome owners, and guests seeking rental accommodations.

The Fontainebleau Forest has long been recognized as an important outdoor recreation destination. The area is widely regarded as the birthplace of outdoor climbing in France, where climbing enthusiasts began exploring its distinctive sandstone boulders more than a century ago.

Today, the forest continues to attract visitors from across France and abroad who come to hike, climb, and experience the region’s extensive network of marked trails and natural landscapes.

Among the area’s notable destinations are Elephant Rock, the Gorges d’Apremont, the Affolantes de Bois-le-Roi, and the nearby village of Barbizon. These attractions contribute to the region’s appeal as a multi-day destination, creating demand for accommodations that allow visitors to remain close to trailheads and climbing sites.

Camping La Musardière offers approximately 200 pitches for tents, camper vans, and motorhomes, in addition to permanent and rental mobile homes, according to Sortir à Paris. For the 2026 season, published rates begin at €7.80 per adult per day and €5 for children under seven years old. Overnight fees range from €7.10 to €11.60 for motorhomes and vans and from €3.70 to €6 for tent camping, depending on the type of stay.

The campground also provides a variety of guest amenities, including an outdoor swimming pool, volleyball and pétanque courts, a teqball table, a children’s playground, a trampoline, table tennis facilities, a fitness area, a sauna, laundry services, and a motorhome service point. These facilities are intended to support both short visits and extended stays for leisure travelers.

For campground operators and outdoor hospitality professionals, the property illustrates how campgrounds located near established recreation assets can strengthen their market position by offering a mix of accommodation types and on-site amenities.

Combining traditional camping with rental lodging allows operators to appeal to different customer segments, while recreational facilities can encourage longer stays and enhance the overall guest experience.

As demand for nature-based tourism continues across Europe, destinations situated near hiking, climbing, and other outdoor activities may benefit from aligning accommodations with the needs of active travelers while maintaining competitive pricing and a diverse range of services.
