Camping de l’Île Combines Eco-Tourism with Accessibility in Île-de-France

Camping de l’Île, a three-star Green Key-certified campsite in Boulancourt, Seine-et-Marne, continues to attract visitors looking for an environmentally conscious getaway near Paris.

Situated less than an hour from the French capital and near Milly-la-Forêt, the campsite offers a nature-oriented experience tailored to both traditional campers and guests seeking more comfort-focused accommodations.

The site features 110 pitches, with options ranging from open fields for tents to fixed rental cottages, bungalows, hanging tents, and guesthouses.

Its emphasis on sustainability and outdoor activity aligns with growing consumer demand for eco-responsible holidays, particularly within the glamping and outdoor hospitality sectors.

Guests can access a variety of outdoor pursuits, including hiking, cycling, fishing, and climbing in the well-known Fontainebleau forest sectors.

The location also supports indoor and family-friendly amenities such as a communal kitchenette equipped with a fridge, freezer, and large dining table, as well as a library, board games, and a small piano.

Additional facilities include a children’s playground, a washer and dryer, an electric vehicle charging point, and airbag rentals. Bicycles are also available for hire, according to Sortira Paris.

Nightly rates start at €9.50 for basic camping and €33 for accommodations, offering an accessible price point for short getaways or longer stays.

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality sector, Camping de l’Île serves as an example of a mid-size campground effectively blending low-impact operations with a range of guest experiences.

The Green Key label signals a commitment to sustainable tourism practices, which is becoming an increasingly important factor in guest decision-making.

Operators in the outdoor hospitality industry may take note of how this site leverages proximity to a major city, flexible lodging formats, and nature-integrated activities to appeal to a broad audience.

As demand grows for nature-based retreats near urban centers, similar models may present growth opportunities in other regions.
