Emerging Leaders Coalition Brings Over 300 Volunteers to Bonneyville Mill for Industrywide Service Day

More than 300 volunteers gathered on Thursday, May 15, at Bonneyville Mill County Park in Elkhart, Indiana, for the RV Industry Association’s Emerging Leaders Coalition’s fourth annual All-Industry Volunteer Day.

Participants represented a wide range of RV companies and contributed their time and labor to support the park through extensive restoration and improvement projects.

The annual volunteer event, launched in 2022, aims to foster collaboration and service across the RV industry while addressing community needs.

This year’s efforts included painting and siding shelters, improving latrines, constructing new roofs, replacing boardwalks, installing new doors and windows in shelters, and completing landscaping work.

Since its inception, the volunteer day has been hosted at different Indiana parks, including Potato Creek State Park in 2022, Ox Bow County Park in 2023, and Chain O’Lakes State Park earlier this year.

In total, over 1,400 volunteers have donated more than 4,000 hours of service during these projects.

The Coalition’s contributions earned recognition at the state and national levels. It received the 2024 National Association of State Park Directors President’s Award for its ongoing work with Indiana State Parks.

The group was also honored with the 2023 Partnership Award by Indiana State Parks for its efforts at Potato Creek State Park.

Volunteers at this year’s event engaged in a wide range of improvement projects throughout Bonneyville Mill County Park, from trail maintenance and invasive species removal to the construction of park benches and the power washing of existing structures. These efforts aim to enhance the park experience for the thousands of annual visitors.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the 2025 All-Industry Volunteer Day would not have been possible without the support of key sponsors from across the RV sector.

Contributing companies included Forest River, Lippert, Patrick Industries, GE Appliances, Keystone RV, ValleyScreen, Thetford Norcold, Alliance RV, Duo-Form, Ranger Distribution Inc., INTransport, LionsHead, Terran, Decron, Dometic, Airxcel, Dave Carter & Associates, Inc., Genesis Products, and Solution Source.
